This unique project consisted of renovating the historic Legion Building that was once the original home to the Spokane Club, Spokane’s elite social club. The building had been neglected for generations and had been significantly deteriorating until the new owners set out to revive the century-old building and its original glory.

As a condition of being on the National Historic Register, the building was required to be restored to its original configuration. The challenge, however, was that the roof and top two floors had been destroyed by fire some 40 years prior and current codes would not permit the structural systems to be rebuilt with combustible materials.

The solution was to reconstruct the upper floors and roof utilizing structural steel.
